Zverev extends title at ATP Washington

Alexander Zverev (ATP 3) has Sunday his title at the ATP tournament in Washington (hard court/1.890.165 dollar) extended. The 21-year-old German, the first seed, defeated in the final battle, the 19-year-old Australian Alex De Minaur (ATP 72) after one hour and fifteen minutes of tennis in two sets (6-2 and 6-4).

For Zverev is the ninth ATP title in his career, his third this season after victories in Munich and Madrid.

Also won the German in Saint-Petersburg (2016), Montpellier (2017), Munich (2017), Rome (2017), Washington (2017) and Montréal (2017). In Washington, he won last year in the final of the South-African Kevin Anderson.

For The Minaur it was the second ATP final of his career. He lost earlier in Sydney, in January of this year, the Russian Daniil Medvedev.
