US demands Myanmar release journalists

SINGAPORE – The American minister of Foreign Affairs Mike Pompeo has in Myanmar urged two journalists from the Reuters news agency immediately release them. Pompeo made his appeal in a meeting with his Burmese counterpart Kyaw Tin at a conference in Singapore, according to the U.s. ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Reuters journalist Wa Lone (C) is geescorteerd by the police in Myanmar.

A spokesman of the government of Myanmar said the case of the reporters Wa Lone (32) and Kyaw Soe Oo (28) on the right is transferred, and who must decide what to do with the journalists happens.

The reporters sitting since december, stuck in Myanmar. They did at the time of their arrest investigation into the murder of ten members of the Rohingya minority in the state of Rakhine. The two journalists are suspected of secret government documents to have won. The duo can be a prison sentence of up to fourteen years.
