Much awaited, but it is there: the sixth season of Netflix Original-topserie Orange Is The New Black is streaming now on Netflix!
After the riots
The fifth season was completely about three days in the lives of Piper (Taylor Schilling), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Red (Kate Mulgrew) and the rest of the women.
Three days following the tragic death of Poussey (Samira Wiley), and ending on a serious cliffhanger: riots in Litchfield. Ladies who are entrench in a bunker. Agents that invade. And the rest of the prisoners in the buses, ready to be back behind bars.
“This place is way too serious,” says Cindy (Adrienne C. Moore) in the new, sixth season of Orange Is the New Black. “This place” is Litchfield Max, the maximum security prison where the ladies in the aftermath of the riots to be transferred.
The new season returns to the structure of the first four seasons. We focus on a smaller group of inmates who go to the nearby Litchfield Max to be transferred. Among them: Taystee (Danielle Brooks), Piper (Taylor Schilling), Gloria (Selenis Leyva), Suzanne (Uzo Aduba), Nicky (Natasha Lyonne) and Red (Kate Mulgrew).
The rebel ladies are spread across several wings of the prison, and end up again at the bottom of the ladder. Re-used, re-prove what you are worth.
Some arrive in “C block”, where the lifelong convicted Carol (Henny Russell), the paste is waving. Her sister Barbara (Mackenzie Phillips) has the say in “D block”, and the two make a like use of younger prisoners to each other as a heel.
A stricter regime, new rules and a perpetual war between two cruel sisters. And still the aftermath of the riots. Because the governor wants the matter quickly closed, and five inmates as the instigators of all the evils referred to.
Curious what the ladies in their new ‘home’? The sixth season is now available for streaming on Netflix!
