Guillaume Gillet is going to be a third adventure in France. The 22-fold Red Devil, who previously came out for SC Bastia and FC Nantes, signing a contract with RC Lens from the Ligue 2. The ex-midfielder of AA Gent and Anderlecht was without a club after his contract with Olympiakos Piraeus this summer, in concert, was dissolved. Gillet has been repeatedly linked to Antwerp, but so again, for an adventure abroad. Details about the life of the contract are not yet known.
“With Gillet, we get again an experienced player. That is needed to be a good framework for the young people in our core. A player who is in the Champions League against Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon has played is certainly an enrichment for our club,” says Eric Roy, sports manager of Lens on the clubwebsite.
“Guillaume is the last month of our sports facilities all come visit. We have a band trying to build. And that seems pretty successful, but Guillaume beat offers from several clubs. His arrival underlines so you have plenty of the ambitions of the club.” .
