The fiftieth anniversary of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey” is celebrated with a re-release of the film in a limited number of IMAX cinemas in the United States and Canada. It is going to be Christopher Nolans 70mm version, which already premiered in Cannes. That write Vertigo, and Entertainment Weekly.

“My father took me to the theatre in London to see him on the largest screen in 70mm,” says Nolan, “and I’ve never forgotten how it felt to see the screen open and to be brought on a journey that you never thought was possible. That has always stuck with me as inspiration for what films can do.”
