HARARE – the ZIMBABWEAN-PF of Emmerson Mnangagwa was the major winner of the elections in Zimbabwe. The party retained the absolute majority in the parliament. That turned out to be Wednesday from the information of the electoral commission. The full official results of the parliamentary and presidential election Monday, was held, is not there yet.

The ZIMBABWEAN-PF is heading for a big majority in the parliament. After almost three-quarters of the seats in parliament were forgiven, had the party already had a majority with 109 places. Opposition party MDC’s Nelson Chamisa was at that moment on 41 seats. There should be at least 58 seats to be forgiven.
It was the first parliamentary and presidential elections since the departure of president Robert Mugabe.
