In Poland In trumpeter Tomasz Stanko died. That reports his daughter to the Polish public radio station. The European jazzicoon was 76 years.
In the 50s, traveled Stanko around the world looking for musical inspiration, and new musical horizons. According to music connoisseurs, he was a master in the free jazz, and he developed “his own musical aesthetics between beboptraditie, free style and contemporary improvisation”.
He also played on the side of the greats of jazz and made a forty plates, mainly on the renowned ECM label.
Stanko also occurred a few times, in Belgium: in 2017 at the Gent Jazz Festival and in 2014 at Jazz Brugge.
