That have the local authorities announced. The man was injured, but his condition is stable. The polar bear was shot and killed.
The tourists traveled with the ship MS Bremen sails for a German shipping company. The attack happened on the small island of Sjuøyane. A helicopter flew the injured man from there to Longyearbyen, the largest settlement on Spitsbergen. It is not clear whether a tourist or a crewmember. Also his nationality was not released. The police in Svalbard investigating the incident.
