Mission: Impossible – the Game in the opening weekend of 61,5 million dollars raised in the United States. That is the highest payoff in the six-volume series until now, reports Variety.
Tom Cruise knows the tills to be ringing
The franchiserecord stood in the name of Mission: Impossible II, which eighteen years ago was 47.8 million dollars — in the first weekend. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol 2011 brought in the opening weekend of 55.5 million dollars. In total, Ghost Protocol 694,7 million dollars, the highest totaalopbrengst in the series.
In Mission: Impossible – Fallout are Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames), together with some familiar faces (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against the clock after a mission wrong ends. Other roles are there for Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby. The director is Christopher McQuarrie.
Fallout runs from Thursday 2 August in the Dutch cinemas. In Pathé Arena in Amsterdam is Monday a special IMAX 3D screening in the presence of celebrities.
