With ‘Zoutelande’, scored the Band its biggest hit in his career, thanks to the vocals of the Belgian Geike Arnaert, and it is now also the biggest Dutch hit ever. That title belonged for a long time to ‘Red’ by Marco Borsato.
‘Red’ by Marco Borsato was nearly twelve years, the largest Dutch hit by our neighbors, but will lose that title now to ‘Zoutelande’, the number of the Band and Geike Arnaert. The Dutch radio station NPO3FM based on a points system whereby a number each week points will be awarded according to the ranking in the Mega Top 50.
‘Zoutelande’ since november 18, in the list, for ten weeks at the top, last week on the 31st place. Therefore sprokkelde the song at 36 weeks 1.380 points, ‘Red’ sprokkelde in the same period, only 1.369 points. Since ‘Yet’ is probably not immediately obvious from the Mega Top 50 is lost, the difference between both numbers still increase.
The song broke last week, also a record in the Flemish Ultratop by 21 weeks at the top of that list. Never before was a track so long, one in the Flemish hitgeschiedenis. Since August 2016 was the record in the name of ‘Horizon,’ from Tourist LeMC feat. Spiritual Wally who then, in turn, Fixkes had taken over.
‘Zoutelande’ (which, incidentally, is an adaptation of the German song ‘Frankfurt oder’ of Bosse) it will soon not however claim the annual award as the Radio 2 summer Hit. The band may not be present at the ceremony and is therefore automatically excluded.
