The pop festivals Bospop in Weert, the netherlands and The Zwarte Cross in Lichtenvoorde have for this weekend taken various measures with a view to the heat and drought.

The 22nd edition of the Black Cross

On The Zwarte Cross in Lichtenvoorde are a number of parts in which fire plays a role, modified or deleted. The organisation also has a smoking ban enacted for a portion of the site, the Oasis, with water sprayed will be. The completely sold out festival in the area expected over the entire weekend of 220,000 visitors.

Bospop has a lot of shade created. The first aid has extra buckets of water and sponges for people to cool off if necessary. Also, there are additional refrigerated containers and freezers to ensure cold drinks and there are additional water stations on the terrain. The fire department is extra vigilant. Roadsides and ditches are mowed. That should prevent fire caused by, for example, overheated cars on the dry grass. There may, however, be barbecue.

On the 38th edition of the Bospop is especially classic rock to hear. Saturday includes Racoon, UB40, a-ha and Simple Minds on the program. Sunday act, among other Novastar, Billy Idol, and Zucchero. In total some 45.000 visitors are expected.
