Explosion at presidential palace in Somalia

MOGADISHU – the Somali capital, Mogadishu, were Saturday an explosion and gunfire heard near the presidential palace. Notify witnesses and the police. The police shot at a fast moving car in the vicinity of the palace exploded.

Who is behind the explosion and what the reason for the violence is, it is not yet clear. The islamic terreurbeweging al-Shabaab carried out already several similar attacks in the country.

Somalia since the fall of dictator Mohamed Siad Barre in the early nineties, in the grip of a bloody conflict between the government and al-Shabaab.
