DEDOVSK – The lost semi-final against France (0-1) hurts in Belgium, but according to Thomas Meunier, the ’Red Devils’ all to the bronze to grab at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS.
“We had here a just world champion should be. But now we want absolutely the third tackle and Belgium proud,” said the fullback from Paris Saint-Germain. “The third place is now the minimum.”
Meunier missed through suspension in the semi-finals. “That was very frustrating. When everyone came that defeat hard.” For the Belgians, rest now, the battle for the bronze with England, Saturday in St.-Petersburg. At the world CHAMPIONSHIPS of 1986 lost the ’Red Devils’ the consolation class. “Our world cup is already a success, even if we Saturday losses,” says Meunier. “But such a nice tournament with two defeats to quit would be a shame. We are also better than England. We have them already in the group reports and that we may so do again.”
Of the basisploeg against France were Thursday only goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and midfielder Nacer Chadli on the training ground. The others worked on their recovery.
