The German defender Holger Badstuber will remain at VfB Stuttgart. The 31-times international, die Mannschaft have his expiring contract extended by three years, until mid-2021.

The defender broke under coach Louis van Gaal at Bayern Munich. Badstuber went after his first season in the main body of the German football club directly to the 2010 world cup, where Germany finished third.
The past few years, Badstuber, however, haunted by injuries. The German moved last year to Stuttgart, where he made his career a new impulse. Badstuber played the last season in 27 matches in the Bundesliga.
