Ruben Bemelmans (ATP 104) plays Monday afternoon in the first round of Wimbledon against the American Steve Johnson (ATP 42). The Observer has after three victories in the qualifying tournament a lot of confidence and believes in his chances.
“Simple it is not. He hits well and has plenty of power. But I have the means to make him difficult to do with my left-handed game. That is three victories in the qualifications have given me a lot of confidence. I feel good and go the maximum to give,” says Bemelmans.
Wimbledon is the grand slam that the 30-year-old Bemelmans best. He is in London for the sixth time at the main table and took out there last year in the third round. “I am very satisfied that I was again the master table have been met.
