Steracteur John Malkovich has signed on for a starring role on the side Jude Law in the tv-series ‘The New Pope’, the successor of ‘The Young Pope’, so reports entertainmentblad Variety today.
Originally, it was announced that ‘The Young Pope’, a joint production of HBO and Italian Sky, no second season would get. That’s what happens now anyway, albeit with a slightly altered title.
Law shone already in ‘The Young Pope’ as Lenny Belardo, who, with his pausnaam Pius XIII is the first American pope in history. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his excellent acting.
