LISBON – José Peseiro is the new coach of Sporting Portugal. The 58-year-old Portuguese will replace the Serb Sinisa Mihajlovic, who last week after only nine days, had to leave.
Peseiro, who for one year has been signed, it was from 1992, as a trainer employed at many clubs in the netherlands and abroad. At Sporting he served once between 2004 and 2005 as head coach.
Mihajlovic continued last month signed a three-year contract in Lisbon, but the new board of the Portuguese club sent him quickly away. The rumbles are already for months at Sporting, with as low the attack of dozens of hooligans on the training complex. Many leading players, among whom striker Bas Dost, want their contract at Sporting as a result of those incidents, let dissolve. A number of regular forces is already gone.
Chairman Bruno de Carvalho, who in a torrent of lag with a large part of the selection, was recently dismissed by the members of the club. The lead is now in the hands of Sousa Cintra. The 73-year-old Portuguese decided Mihajlovic immediately dismiss.
