Two Kenyans provide the best wereldjaarprestaties at 1,500 m for men and 3,000 m steeple women

The Kenyan, Timothy Cheruiyot has Saturday, a world year best at the 1,500 metres to record at the Diamond League meeting in Paris. Cheruiyot finished in 3:29.71 for the Djiboutiaan Ayanleh Souleiman (3:31.77) and his compatriot Charles Cheboi Simotwo (3:32.61). Vice-world champion Cheruiyot improved his own world year best. He walked closer to 3:31.22, on 31 may in Rome.

Cheruiyots female compatriot Beatrice Chepkoech made for a world year best at the 3,000 m steeple. Chepkoech finished in 8:59.36, for her landgenotes Celliphine Chepteek Chespol (9:01.82) and Hyvin Kiyeng (9:03.86). Chepkoech, fourth at the Games in London in 2012 and at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS last year, is one of the four athletes who are under the nine minutes popped up on the 3,000 m steeple.
