At the presentation of the Saturn Awards, a major award for genre films, the Dutch are out of the awards. The Saturn Awards are Wednesday night handed out in Los Angeles.
The western Brimstone of the Dutch film director Martin Koolhoven was nominated in the category best independent film, but in this category won the American american drama Miracle of film director Stephen Chbosky.
The Dutch make-up Arjen Spouts, previously an Oscar nomination received, was nominated in the category of best makeup for his work on Miracle. But in the category of Best film make-up, the prize went to the make-up artists of the Black Panther, reports Variety.
Black Panther won a total of five awards and was the big winner of the evening. The action-packed movie about an African prince also won the prizes for best film strip, best director (Ryan Coogler), best female supporting actress (Danai Gurira) and best production design.
The Saturn Awards were this year for the 44th time awarded. It was not the first time that a Dutchman is nominated; ten years ago, Paul Verhoeven chance of winning the prize with his oorlogsthriller black book.
