The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, whose members together determine which and actors nominated for the Oscars, has 928 new members from almost sixty countries were invited. It is notable that 49 percent is female, and 38 percent are non-white. That is not a coincidence: the past few years, there was considerable criticism at the Academy. The nominations yielded little non-whites, due to a lack of diversity in the Academy. In order to be selected as a member, a candidate must be supported by two members of the Academy to find that he or she is an exceptional accomplishment produced, or must the candidate already nominated for an Oscar. Among the participants at the sit names such as J. K. Rowling, Blake Lively, Melissa Etheridge, Tiffany Haddish, Eva Green, Diane Kruger, Amy Schumer, Jada Pinkett Smith and Kendrick Lamar.
