Ruud van Nistelrooij is Monday appointed the new trainer of PSV under 19. The former topspits replaces Mark van Bommel, who Friday Phillip Cocu succeeded as a coach of the main force.
The 41-year-old Van Nistelrooij was at PSV already working as jeugdcoach and was a few days in the week assistant coach at the first team. He looks forward to his new role.
“The course trainer/coach has me gripped. This is a wonderful opportunity to take the next step in my development,” says the 70-fold international on the website of PSV.
“I have thought about and indeed discussed with a number of people. This is a nice moment to this job on me. I look incredibly forward to this feature with this talented group to get started.”
Van Nistelrooij was previously assistant coach under Guus Hiddink and Danny Blind at the Dutch national team. As a player he came off for PSV eindhoven, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Van Bommel thinks that he has enough baggage for trainerschap PSV
PSV made Friday announced that Van Bommel is the successor of the Fenerbahçe left Cocu. The midfielder is currently assistant national coach Bert van Marwijk in the world cup entrant Australia.
His new role will Van Nistelrooij something less involved with the first team, but according to general manager Toon Gerbrands is not the way that he is in close contact with Van Bommel.
“His new role is a structural contribution of the staff of Van Bommel is not possible, but the lines remain short and, if possible, will Ruud also face to the profzijde of The Herdgang. That he has with Mark, all agreed,” says the director.
The exercise of PSV in the run-up to the new season is not yet known. The Locals play on 4 August the first official match, when a cup winner Feyenoord’s opponent in the battle for the Johan Cruijff Schaal.
