Brosnan found it very difficult to walk away from his role as Bond
Former James Bond star Pierce Brosnan wants Tom Hardy for the role of super spy 007 takes over when Daniel Craig retires. The star of Dark Knight Rises is already a favourite for the role, and Brosnan is convinced that Hardy has everything what is needed.
“Daniel Craig is an incredible Bond”, said the die Another Day actor against The Mail On Event magazine. “He is very physical and you believe sincerely that this is someone that a man could kill. He makes the next movie and then I think Tom Hardy is a good Bond could be. I would be very happy if he would do it.”
Hardy is not the only name that is mentioned as a possible successor to Craig – Idris Elba, Aidan Turner, and James Norton were previously also in the running. There is also discussions about changing the gender of the famous secret agent but Pierce fears that it is too far from the original story would be lost. “I think a female Bond would be able to play, but then it is no James Bond,” he said.
