Van Bommel thinks that he has enough baggage’ for trainerschap PSV

Mark van Bommel is that he is ready for the trainerschap at PSV. The Limburger was Friday at the Local club appointed as the successor of Phillip Cocu, despite the fact that he still has no experience as head coach at the highest level.

“I have the luggage with the right feeling on this challenge to start,” says Van Bommel in a brief first comment on the website of the Locals.

The 79-times international, who from 1999 to 2005, and in the 2012/2013 season when PSV played, wants nothing further to say about his appointment, because he is still with Australia running at the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Russia. He is at the ‘Socceroos’ assistant coach Bert van Marwijk. “All the focus is on the world cup,” said Van Bommel.

The appointment of Van Bommel does not come as a surprise. Everything pointed to the past few weeks that Cocu PSV after five years would leave for the Turkish Fenerbahçe and Van Bommel had been the desire to be head coach of the club, with which he, as a player, four-time champion of the Netherlands. Last Friday, PSV both the departure of the 47-year-old Cocu as the appointment of the six year younger Van Bommel is known.
