Phillip Cocu leaves after five years and three championships with PSV. The 47-year-old citizen of eindhoven is as a trainer to get started at Fenerbahçe. He is the champion followed by Mark van Bommel.
The transition from Cocu to the Turkish football club hung in the air, because the specific interest was earlier this month confirmed by general director Toon Gerbrands of PSV. It made Fenerbahçe the way by coach Aykut Kocaman to dismiss.
Cocu, two-time winner of the Rinus Michels Award as the best coach of the Premier league, followed in the summer of 2013 Dick Advocaat as head coach of PSV. After a rough start saw the club under the old international, which was a successful period.
Both in 2015, 2016 as the last season was the title conquered. Also picked up PSV under the leadership of Cocu, the KNVB-cup (as interim coach in 2012) and the Johan Cruijff Scale (2015 and 2016). He still had a contract for a year in Eindhoven.
Cocu is after Guus Hiddink (1990/1991) and Dick Advocaat (2016/2017) is the third Dutch coach at Fenerbahçe. The Turkish club was nineteen-time champion – including the last time in 2014 and finished last season second behind Galatasaray.
