No Iljo Keisse in the BK or in the Tour de France. The Belgian rider from Etixx-Quick Step has a longvliesontsteking. That made the team Friday night known.
Keisse responded on his twitter account on the bad news. “Sad and frustrated should I be forced to give up for the BK and the Tour by a longvliesontsteking,” he writes. “Bitter because I worked very hard for had to be good in this period. I wish my team mates good luck in the coming weeks and look forward to them joining!”
Complete rest is the only remedy for Keisse. About three weeks should he the training resume.
Quick-Step now, start with six riders in Binche. That are Laurens De Plus, Tim Declercq, Dries Devenyns, Gilbert, Yves Lampaert and Pieter Serry. .
