The American band the Monkees has the last concerts of a U.s. tour postponed due to illness of guitarist Mike Nesmith. Just before the start of a show in Philadelphia made the band on Facebook announced that Nesmith is struggling with a small health problem’ and a week of rest.
The 75-year-old guitarist is after a visit to a hospital returned to his home in California. Nesmith has performed with the 73-year-old Micky Dolenz in the show the Monkees Present: The Mike & Micky Show.
The group promises shows in Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey at a later time to catch up.
Pop group The Monkees in the sixties brought together for a same tv program, as an American answer to The Beatles. The group scored world hits with songs like I’m a Believer (1966) and Daydream Believer (1967). Davy Jones, the lead singer of the pop group The Monkees, died in 2012 at age 66.
