Jamie Bell plays songwriter Bernie Taupin in the movie about Elton John, Rocketman. Directed by Dexter Fletcher explores the film the early years of the muziekicoon as a child prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through his influential and lasting musical partnership with Bernie. Actor Taron Egerton plays Elton and according to Variety is Bell in the final stage of negotiations to Bernie to portray.

Elton and Bernie met in 1967 when they both responded to an ad for liedjesschrijvers.
