ADDIS ABABA – The Eritrean dictator Isaias Afewerki sent a delegation to the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to “be constructive to prepare an” in the relationship with the neighboring country. This reported diplomatic sources from Eritrea.
The new Ethiopian premier Abiy Ahmed at the beginning of this month statements made that indicate the willingness of his country by Eritrea to reconcile: “We need to focus our efforts on peace and reconciliation, we must turn away from stupid conflicts and all going to do to combat poverty.”
The relationship between Ethiopia and Eritrea is overshadowed by disputes. In the years 1998 – 2000, the two countries have a bloody war.
The announcement of Abiy Ahmed that Ethiopia is prepared to have an international peace agreement from 2000, seems to be a breakthrough in the conflict between the countries. The implementation of that agreement means that Ethiopia include the time taken to place Badme to Eritrea transfers. That is a condition for the Eritrean regime to Addis Ababa in this dialogue.
