Roger Federer put retook the number 1 position in the paint and grabs 98th title out of career at ATP Stuttgart

Roger Federer Sunday, the ATP-tournament in the German Stuttgart (grass/656.015 euro) to his name. In the final defeated the newly crowned number one in the world, the Canadian Milos Raonic (ATP-35), the seventh seed, in two sets with a 6-4 and 7-6 (7/3). The contest lasted for an hour and twenty minutes.

It was the fourteenth meeting between Federer and the 27-year-old Raonic. The Swiss pulled in eleven duels at the longest end, Raonic won only three times.

The 36-year-old Federer, who at the beginning of this year with the Australian Open early in the grand slam tournament won, there was already in 2016 and 2017 in Stuttgart. Nevertheless, it was his name still not on the hall of fame. Last year he was already in the second round off by the German, Tommy Haas, and two years ago was the Austrian Dominic Thiem too strong in the semi-finals. The Swiss had afterwards the gravelseizoen left to prepare for Wimbledon, where he for a ninth title.
