PRESPES – The ministers of Foreign Affairs of Greece and Macedonia have Sunday signed an agreement for the former Yugoslav republic a new name: the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
Alexis Tsipras and his colleague Zoran Zaev are relieved about the agreement reached.
The agreement, which was signed on the Prespameer in Northern Greece on the border with Macedonia and Albania, to end almost three decades of discussions between the two countries over the name of the young Balkanstaat. After the ratification of Sunday the parliaments have given their approval. Macedonia would also be a plebiscite.
