André Rieu (68) in 2010 was sick for a long time by a viral infection on his balance organs. Now he has for some time been better, he thinks more on his health “as ever.”
“That infection and debilitating period then proceeded to make me not in the cold clothes”, says Rieu Saturday to the Telegraph.
From July 4, he gives a series of concerts on the Vrijthof in Maastricht. “As a sportsman at the highest level, I prepared myself for that marathonoptredens. I can’t afford that my mind or body falters. I had eight years ago a viral infection on my balance organs. The situation is getting worse at the time because I was tired affected by many performances.”
The musician says having learnt of the disease process at the time. “That infection and debilitating period then proceeded to make me not in the cold clothes sitting. I think more about my health than ever before. The problems with my balance organs are, fortunately, never came back.”
“I do everything to stay fit. So I make sure that everything is in balance and harmony, like the music we play. That way you can hold it very long. I live healthy, sport under professional guidance with my personal trainer and make sure that I get enough rest take. On live I do nothing else than to prepare myself for the concert. No appointments and no interviews.”
