KV Oostende has with the Belgian jeugdinternational Indy Boonen strengthened. The 19-year-old offensive midfielder, a jeugdproduct of Racing Genk, comes over from Manchester United.
Boonen stepped in 2015 of the youth of Genk to that of Manchester United. Played there the triple Belgian promise-international at the U23 and he trained a few times with the first team. “I really learned a lot in Manchester, but now, I find it especially important to play,” says Boonen on the website of his new employer. “Here, I ended up in an ambitious club which opportunities to young players. The presence of Gert Verheyen was a major factor for me to go to KVO. I played under him at the Belgian U19 and his way of addressing, like me. I’m greatly looking forward to Tuesday on the training ground.”
Trainer Gert Verheyen is satisfied that one of his young poulains for KVO choose. “Indy is a technically strong player who has a man off and a good pass in the house. His favorite position is central, but he can also be on the edge of the feet. It is a boy that joy radiates on the field and, moreover, does not float. He stands with both feet on the ground and has the right mindset. He is aware that Manchester is a great learning environment, but that he will hard to work.”
It is already the third day in a row that KV Oostende is an asset represents. Wednesday reported the club to the arrival of Croatian defender Goran Milovic (Osijek), Thursday of midfielder François Marquet (Waasland-Beveren), Verheyen also got to know as a coach of the Belgian U19.
