‘The Outsider’, the latest book of succesauteur Stephen King, was on 22 may in the racks. Monday announced entertainmentmagazine Deadline that the rights to the work have been purchased by the film studio Media Rights Capital, that the book is already in a tv series of 10 episodes will be pouring.
Richard Price will be the scenario pins. The American wrote earlier, the script of the Robert De Niro-films ‘Night and the City’ (1992) and ‘Mad Dog and Glory (1993). Also a few episodes of the series ‘The Wire’ from his hand. It earned him, in 2008, their screenplay Writers Guild of America Award.
The story is about a beloved teacher who is accused of a brutal murder of an 11-year-old girl. The detective discovered the DNA of the suspect at the crime scene, but the man in question has an ironclad alibi. Then woven the plot itself as a crimi/politiethriller, with the classic King-touch.
Countless works of King found their way to the big or small screen. Classics such as ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, ‘The Shining’ and ‘The Green Mile’, or the horrorprent ‘It’ make of King is probably the largest supplier of kijkvoer worldwide. However, not all of the projects a shot in the rose. The hype about ‘The Dark Tower’ (2017), with Idris Elba, faded quickly when the movie bad reviews it received. TV series ‘Under The Dome’ and ‘The Mist’ could be no more convincing, and were after disappointing viewing figures stopped.
