At the Art fair Art Basel, the Antwerp Gallery, Sofie van de Velde Wednesday evening the Innovation and Creativity award in the won at the award ceremony of the European Gallery Awards.

The jury praised Van de Velde especially for her approach to collaboration with other galleries. It is the fourteenth time the prize will be awarded – in 2007, Zeno X Gallery, as any other Belgian gallery. The price itself is rather symbolic: it is an object created by the Austrian artist Leo Zogmayer with the words ‘Visible – Invisible’.

Sofie Van de Velde opened her gallery in 2013. They set work at the exhibition of both Belgian (Jan Van Imschoot, Johan Grimonprez, Guillaume Bijl, Marcel Broodthaers) and international artists (Bruce Nauman, Francis Picabia), in collaboration with a network of twenty international galleries. At present there is an exhibition of the work of the Californian conceptualist Mike Bouchet.
