Matt Damon from Ocean’s 8 cut

Scenes with Matt Damon, and Carl Reiner are in the final assembly of Ocean’s 8 killed in action. The actors were a bit player in the ’sequel’ Ocean’s 11, where this time all women play the main role.

Matt Damon would be in the new film the role of Linus Caldwell, playing his character from the original films. But director Gary Ross has Damon out of his film to be cut. To The Hollywood Reporter explains the film’s reason: “The pick of the supporting characters is an eclectic process. How they fit in the verhaalijn? More so than in my previous films, I’ve played with the available material. I have in other movies after the recordings, never extra scenes included, but a crime film with a great cast like this, we have done that. And that was also satisfactory.”

In december a petition around to call to Matt Damon from Ocean’s 8 to delete. Damon was at that time under fire for statements he made about the #MeToo affair.

Ocean’s 8 is a spin-off of the Ocean’s trilogy. This time is the slick group of crooks from women. Sandra Bullock plays the sister of Danny Ocean. Other roles are played by Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway.

Ocean’s 8 is running from 21 June in the Dutch cinemas.
