The KNVB has, with a nod responded to a Twitter message in which it was reported that Orange may still be allowed to participate in the world cup in Russia.
The mattresses were ready, joked the KNVB.
“We were just ready for it, shows it to be a joke. Thank you, eh”, he put the football on Twitter with a photo of a pile of mattresses, ready for departure, with stickers with the names of a few internationals.
The KNVB responded to a tweet in which it was stated that Spain, after the dismissal of coach Julen Lopetegui no longer allowed to participate in the world CHAMPIONSHIPS in Russia. Orange would be first reserve. A lot of people hoped (against better judgement) that the reported beating, but Orange was not even in the play-offs and will therefore not be eligible.
The photo of the mattresses is also a subtle reference to the relletje of last week with The Red Devils. In Belgium created a lot of fuss once in a reportage images were presented, showing the bedding of the players. Five mattresses were missing, however, and so seemed to be already clear which players would lose weight for the final selection.
Finally knocked ‘matrasgate’ only partly. Matz Sels Sels, Christian Kabasele and Jordan Lukaku fell actually, but Adnan Januzaj and Leander Dendoncker could come to Russia.
