The Night of the Refugee is going this year for the first time, accompanied by a live television show. Liesbeth Staats and Joris Linssen present Saturday night broadcast of KRO-NCRV on NPO 2, from the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam.
During the Night of the Refugee is by means of sponsored walks of 10, 20 or 40 km raised money for Stichting Vluchteling and drew attention to refugees worldwide. Joris Linssen is for the program traveled to Uganda, that hundreds of thousands of refugees captures.
“Because I have personally seen how the situation in Uganda, I hope to the public about how necessary this aid is. Where do these people come from? What is their story? Johnny de Mol will be out on Saturday night together with a school class, along with the 10 km. Also Waldemar’, ambassador of Stichting Vluchteling, is present. Of Thick Wood and Carel Kraayenhof go in a special collaboration. Together they perform with the applicable ’as Long as the music still sounds’: a new, yet to be released song from Van Dik Hout. Other featured artists are Trijntje Oosterhuis and Wulf.
