MADRID – Iñaki Urdangarin, the brother-in-law of the Spanish king, Felipe VI, has a success achieved in the appeal against his sentence because of tax evasion and money laundering. The highest Spanish court reduced the sentence by five months to five years and ten months.
Both the ORDER as the brother-in-law was against the punishment in a higher appeal. Justice saw a punishment of fourteen years and six months in place but didn bakzeil.
Former handbalprof Urdangarin is the husband of Cristina de Borbón, the youngest sister of the king. The Borbón was itself earlier this year acquitted of complicity in the scandal.
