Waasland-Beveren has Monday reinforced with Tobias Salquist, a Danish defender 23. Salquist, signed a contract for three seasons at the Freethiel. He is already the tenth zomeraanwinst of Waasland-Beveren.
“Tobias is a central defender that all the fundamental qualities”, explained hoofdscout Daniel Declerck. “He has a good positional game and is very agile. Are kopspel and duelkracht are two of his greatest qualities. If an attacker one-on-one with him, he came very often as the winner of the fight. He looks for the footballing solution, but still without a lot of risks to take. With his 1m90, he has also a beautiful figure. It is tweevoetig, but gives the preference to the right.”
Salquist made his debut, after his youth to have been completed at Silkeborg, in april 2015 in the first team. After a uitleenbeurt to the Icelandic first division Fjölnir between march 2016 and december 2016, he returned as basisspeler back to Silkeborg. He came in total to 51 official duels (and two goals) in his opleidingsclub, but the relegation from the top division last season, not prevent it.
Salquist is already the tenth zomertransfer for Waasland-Beveren. Previously fortified the club with Daan Heymans, the Rwandan Jihad Bizimana, the Costa Rican Alexis Gamboa, the Dutchman Milan Massop, the Senegalese Paul Keita and Lamine Ndao, the Brit Oscar Threkeld, the Serb Aleksandar Vukotic and the Croatian Karlo Lulic. Goalkeeper Davy Roef was on top for an additional season thanks to Anderlecht.
