Barbra Streisand is doing good business with Netflix. The streaming service has, according to Variety bought the rights to of six vintage muziekspecials and an extended edition of the film A Star is Born from 1976.
Streisand revealed the deal Sunday night on the closing night of the FYSee Event, where she spoke about the recent Netflix special: Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries … The Magic!
The six purchased muziekspecials: My Name Is Barbra (1965), Color Me Barbra (1966), Barbra Streisand: A Happening in Central Park (1968), Barbra Streisand and Other Musical Instruments (1973), Barbra Streisand: The Concert (1994) Barbra Streisand: Timeless (2001).
In the extended version of A Star is Born brings Streisand to a musical version of Evergreen, and additional images added to the medley at the end of the film.
In February, it was announced that Barbra Streisand plays a role in the musical comedyserie The Politician, where Netflix two seasons of has ordered. The recordings of the series begin in the late summer.
