Vettel dominates in Canada despite blunder organisation and is new world CHAMPIONSHIP leader Vandoorne set to disappoint

Sebastian Vettel has a dominant way in the Grand prix of Canada won the fiftieth victory in his Formula 1 career. The German led from start to finish in his Ferrari and takes the world CHAMPIONSHIP lead from Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), which is a difficult race knew. Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) were together with Vettel on stage, Stoffel Vandoorne was already a difficult race for McLaren until the fifteenth.

Relive the race in Canada here from start to finish!

Sebastian Vettel was on Saturday, the fastest man and in pole position to leave, right behind him, Valtteri Bottas and Max Verstappen. World CHAMPIONSHIP leader Lewis Hamilton after a difficult qualifying only fourth. The top four remained at the start is unchanged, but Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull) moved well past Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) to place five. Behind them went straight thorough error at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. Brendon Hartley (Toro Rosso) was in the wrong place then Lance Stroll (Williams) oversteer and to the edge of the track went. Both riders made contact: Hartleys Toro Rosso ended up almost on its side, both men were allowed to immediately make a cross over their race.

Problems with world CHAMPIONSHIP leader Hamilton

For Canadian Stroll was a real disappointment, because it was so immediately turned off in his home race. The safety car was allowed a few rounds to show up so that the pieces of the track could be removed. At the restart kept Vettel on the head for Bottas and Verstappen, but in the background there was again contact: Carlos Sainz shared a little off on Sergio Pérez, after that last just about four places lost.

All the way in the front stopped Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton as first. Verstappens pit stop was no surprise since he has the least available band (hypersoft) driving, but the soft rubber splendidly dressed Hamilton complained about bandenproblemen and had an early first stop. It would be the Brit acid breaking up: pursuer Ricciardo stopped for a moment later and came to Hamilton back on the track. A few laps later Hamilton good to get away, when Kimi Räikkönen – who long waited for tires to swap – but just behind him joined after his pitstop.

Dramatic race for McLaren

For Stoffel Vandoorne, and the entire McLaren team had now again not a good race. Our countryman had in round one to come in for an unscheduled pit stop. That pit stop took me such a long time that Vandoorne as the latter again joined. The Rumbekenaar could eventually pass Marcus Ericsson and Sergey Sirotkin. Fernando Alonso fought, meanwhile, to the eleventh spot, but had to give up with a technical defect.

All the way in the front happened a lot in the second half of the race. Vettel and Bottas had no drama with their late first (and only) pit stop, came first and second again on court and remained there until the fall of the finishvlag – that finishvlag was interestingly enough a round too early waved a blunder of the organization. A present model was given the honor to the race to the flags, but made himself thus immortal is ridiculous. The blunder was immediately noticed by race leader Vettel and the other drivers were not, fortunately, surprise, making the results not changed. The last round was just finished.

Max Verstappen was the second time in three races on the stage, his Red Bull-teammakker Daniel Ricciardo was fourth but had to be in the slot to get everything from the cabinet to Lewis Hamilton, the number five, behind to keep. Räikkönen was sixth.

Leclerc impresses again, Vettel performs on position

Behind the leaders were the two Renaults of Nico Hülkenberg and Carlos Sainz handsome seventh and eighth, Esteban Ocon (Force India). The again strong running rookie Charles Leclerc (Sauber) picked up another point and was tenth. In the world cup mode is Vettel the new leader with 121 points, one more than Lewis Hamilton. Valtteri Bottas jumps over Daniel Ricciardo to third place, but he has, however, already 35 points behind Vettel – Ricciardo is fourth with 37 points behind the new CHAMPIONSHIP leader.
