Lionel Messi has Sunday in an interview with the Spanish newspaper Sport his views on the impending world cup in Russia. “I predict a balanced tournament,” said the spearhead of Argentina.
“There are very few teams with a lot of confidence down to Russia”, said Messi. “They are collectively strong and able to rely on a lot of individual talent. I’m thinking of countries like Spain, Brazil, Germany, France and Belgium. We lost three finals in a row (the world cup in 2014 and the Copa America in 2015 and 2016, ed.), and that did hurt. How I my future as the international, see? That depends on which trail we take in Russia.”
Argentina meets at the world cup in group D Iceland (16/06), Croatia (21/06) and Nigeria (26/06). Four years ago Brazil lost the South Americans in the final from Germany. In the quarter-finals switched ‘La Albiceleste’ when the Red Devils.
