BAGHDAD – An Iraqi warehouse with votes in the recent parliamentary elections is in the fire that followed. The ministry of Defence announced that all ballot boxes and ballots in the depot in Baghdad have been destroyed.
The ministry did not take the number of ballots lost. It comes to bills that were released for the parliamentary elections in may.
The current parliament voted last week in with a recount of all votes in elections are released. That happened a day after prime minister Haider al-Abadi had said of serious irregularities during the vote. The party of Abadi came in the elections does not go beyond the third place.
About the cause of the fire, the authorities have no announcements made. The fire flew warehouse is located in the district of al-Rusafa that to the east of the river Tigris.
