Manchester City-trainer Josep Guardiola has Yaya Touré a liar, mentioned in an interview with Catalan channel TV3. The Ivorian midfielder accused Guardiola last week of racism.

“It is a lie and he knows it himself,” said Guardiola. “We have two years of work and now he says it suddenly. He has never been right in my face and said.”

The 35-year-old Touré came in his last season at the English national champions just to ten matches. Because of a conflict with Guardiola, he was at the beginning of the season not at all prepared.

Touré called Guardiola “cruel” compared to France Football. “I’ve regularly wondered if my skin color was. And I was not the first, more players have asked themselves that. He does not like African players, but is too intelligent for that to catch.”

The contract of Touré runs this summer at Manchester City. The midfielder, who since 2010 at the club from Manchester has played, still has no new club found.

Guardiola was last season champion in the Premier League with Manchester City, and extended recently his contract with the club until mid-2021. He is not planning ever to return to FC Barcelona, where he was from 2008 to mid-2012 trainer.

“I’m not the same person as then, and they look there is now also different to me,” said Guardiola. The 47-year-old Catalan was with Barcelona, including three-time champion of Spain and won twice the Champions League.

Also as president he wants in the future will not return to Barcelona. “No, I am a trainer and not a director. I am good at what I do. You can’t be everything.”
