Hollywood star George Clooney (57) is the American Film Institute (AFI) honoured for his entire film oeuvre. Clooney should, at the 46th gala of the AFI in Los Angeles the price received from the hands of the 84-year-old Shirley MacLaine (84). The gala took place at the Dolby Theatre, where the annual Oscarceremonie takes place. MacLaine himself won the prize in 2012.
Clooney knew in October already that he’s the AFI-laureate of 2018 would be. The AFI honored the two “oscar” Italian (for ‘Syriana’ and ‘Argo’) as an actor, director, author and producer, but also for his “humanitarian engagement”. The Life Achievement Award is awarded to people who contributed to the elevation of the American cinema. Previous winners include, among others, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Dustin Hoffman and Steven Spielberg.
