George Clooney has Thursday during a special gala of the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award taken. The entire ceremony was devoted to the life and career of the actor and director.
George’s wife Amal was one of the speakers at the gala. In her emotional speech, she told about his generosity, morals, and his penchant for jokes. The 40-year-old human rights lawyer described him as “the great love which I had always hoped that he existed.” It was the first time that Amal in the public about George spoke. In the hall were many big Hollywood stars like Bill Murray, Jennifer Aniston, Cate Blanchett and Jimmy Kimmel.
Last year it was announced that George this year would be honored with an award. The American Film Institute reported him as “perhaps the most important man in America.” “George is a filmicoon that the glamour of our profession combines with a great passion for the cinema. We are proud that we can honor.”
Previous winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award for his icons as Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor, Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro and Meryl Streep.
