Robbie Williams evacuated due to hotelbrand

Singer Robbie Williams has been evacuated due to a fierce fire in a luxury hotel in the centre of London.

Robbie Williams was one of the guests that safety is established, report various British media.

The British singer was in the five-star Mandarin Oriental to prepare for the benefietvoetbalwedstrijd Soccer Aid for Unicef Saturday. Soccer Aid is a biennial initiative that, in 2006, was started by Williams, who is an ambassador for Unicef. The proceeds from tickets and donations goes to the children’s fund of the United Nations.

The 44-year-old ambassador of Unicef, was spotted on images of guests via the emergency exit, and the hotel had to leave.


Local media report that about 120 firefighters, with numerous fire engines to the newly renovated Mandarin Oriental hotel on the south side of Hyde Park have been sent. The plumes of smoke are everywhere in the area.

According to observers, is the roof of the old building of twelve floors in fire. The building was in 1889 as an exclusive herenclub built and ten years later for a big part destroyed by a fire.

It was in 1902 and reopened as the Hyde Park Hotel. It has underwent a remodel that more than 210 million euro has cost, and in may was completed.
