Marc Marquez is part of a select club of three Red Bull athletes who this week have the opportunity to be with a F1 car to test. Also MXGP world champion Tony Cairoli and MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa come this week in action with a F1-racing car of Toro Rosso.
Marquez looked very hard out to his test in the Toro Rosso STR7, the F1 car with which Toro Rosso F1 2012 season finished. The Spaniard benefited enormously from his F1 experience
“Today I had a constant smile on my face! It was a great experience,” said Marquez. “It was incredible to be with a F1 racing car to drive, even more so because it was my first experience with a car on a track, that I had never done. I rode once with a Formula 3 car, but that there were only two laps at Motegi.”
“The day before the test I was very, very nervous, I couldn’t sleep. Also in the morning I was nervous, even more than for a racing weekend in MotoGP! Step by step, I tried to adapt and there is still more to enjoy. It was really very fun!”
