ZAGREB Zdravko Mamic should be for 6.5 years the cell. The former president of the Croatian football club Dinamo Zagreb got Wednesday that the sentence was imposed because of tax evasion and embezzlement.
Zoran Mamic, brother of Zdravko and ex-coach of Dinamo, was sentenced to 4 years and 11 months imprisonment. Two other ex-directors of Dinamo and a tax official should also be the prison.
None of the convicts was Wednesday when the court ruled. Zdravko Mamic left a day earlier to Bosnia. Mamic and co can appeal to appeal against the pronounced criminal sanctions.
Luka Modric is also involved in the case. The Croatian midfielder of Real Madrid is previously indicted by the Public Prosecutor. Modric would last year as a witness lied during the trial that because of tax evasion and embezzlement was filed against his old club Dinamo Zagreb. In Croatia is a term of imprisonment of six months up to five years for perjury.
