‘Don’t Shoot’, a film based on the story of the relatives of the victims of the Gang of Nivelles, will be available as from October in the Belgian cinemazalen. The film tells the story through the eyes of David, whose parents and sister were shot.
The story begins in 1985, with the last and biggest massacre of the Gang of Nivelles and runs over a period of more than 25 years. On 9 november, the parents and sister of the nine-year-old David in front of his eyes shot in the attack at a Delhaize store. He remains seriously injured, and orphaned.
Stijn Coninx has directed the hands. “My film is not about the perpetrators but on the victims and their relatives, and how them to date is justice denied,” says Coninx to The Standard.
Jonas Van Geel plays the adult David Of the Stone. Also, Louis Talpe, Tom Van Dyck and Ann Tuts to see. The movie comes out in October this year.
